Bayside Dentures
If you are going to be getting new dentures, we hope you will get them at our office of Stuart Shaffren, DDS. At our dental practice, Dr. Stuart Shaffren provides patients with beautiful and comfortable
Bayside dentures to replace their missing teeth.
When you first get your new
Bayside dentures there will be an adjustment you will need to go through. At first, your new dentures may feel a bit awkward in your mouth. If this occurs do not be surprised, and certainly do not be worried. Wearing dentures can be a big adjustment and it will take a little time for your mouth to adjust to them. But your mouth will soon adjust to the dentures and they will feel completely comfortable in your mouth. In the beginning, our dentist may ask that you wear your dentures round-the-clock so that any spots that irritate your gums will become readily apparent. This way your new dentures can be adjusted right in the beginning shortly after you first get them. After a few weeks, your muscles in your cheeks and your tongue will learn to keep the dentures in place. You will also become more able to easily insert and remove your dentures. If you have some minor mouth irritation in the beginning, these problems will also subside as your mouth adjusts to the new dentures. The dentures that you get at our dental practice will closely resemble your natural teeth so your face will not look considerably different. However, your face will most likely look a bit more filled out and more youthful. It may take you some time to adjust to eating with your new dentures. It is a good idea to start out eating soft foods, and foods that are cut into small pieces. Try to use both sides of your mouth to chew. Slowly you should add in other foods, and you will eventually return to your regular diet.
